Therin Woodcrest

The rider of Light Blue dragon Almdirr, and Nemisis of Zalom the Wyrmking. Therin was born in a small town just outside of the Barathor Mountains named Woodcrest. His father, a blacksmith taught Therin the ways of swordsmanship, and crafting of heavy metals into impressive armors and weapons to be feared. Therin is slightly shorter then most of the men in his village were, and due to this his peers consistently taunted him about it. Until of course they dueled him blade on blade. The day before his closest friend was to leave in service to High King Jeorhim the two men climbed to the top of a cliff nicknamed "Othirim's Drop" that overlooked their town of Woodcrest. After an exhausting climb Therin made an important discovery, an egg of a race thought to be long extinct or perhaps feral, he stumbled across a dragon egg. After months of caring for this egg, it finally hatched, a Pale Blue female dragon, which he named Almdirr (Meaning "beautiful one" in the old Northern tongue.) Shortly after his discovery, and hatching of Almdirr his town was destroyed in a attack lead by a man named Zalom who claimed to be the "Wyrmking. In the chaos of the fighting Therin was captured and tortured until his was tranformed into a hideous being by twisted black magic. The damage was so great that the only creature that finds him beautiful is Aldmirr, but that is because she see's his soul rather then his physical form. With the destruction of his town, and damage to his body, Therin leaves behind his old last name and picks up the last name Wyrmbane
